The converter reads the parts of the .docx that carry the content: the main document, styles, numbering definitions, core properties, the first header and footer and PNG or JPEG media. Everything is laid out on A4 portrait pages with 50 point margins using the standard PDF font families, sans, serif and monospace, chosen according to the font each run declares.
The .docx is unpacked in memory, parsed with the browser's own XML parser and drawn into a PDF by a library running in your browser tab. No part of the document is uploaded, no external converter is called and no third-party script is loaded. The only network traffic is OléPDF's own code and, if your text uses Japanese or Hebrew, a font subset from its own domain. The original file on your disk is never modified.
