Text to PDF takes a plain .txt file and lays it out as a clean, readable PDF with real, selectable text. Paragraphs, blank lines and line breaks are respected, columns separated by tabs are aligned, and a form feed character in the file starts a new page. The conversion runs in your browser: the text file is read locally and the PDF is written locally.
It exists for the humble text file that has to travel as a document: a log or a configuration dump to attach to a ticket, a README or a licence to include with a delivery, an exported chat or a transcript, a plain-text letter or a list that someone needs to print. There is nothing to configure, which is also why it takes a couple of seconds.
The layout is deliberately simple and consistent. Pages are A4 with a 50 point margin on every side, the text is set in an 11 point monospaced font with a comfortable line spacing, and long lines are wrapped at the margin. The first non-empty line of the file becomes the document title in the PDF metadata.
The file is decoded and laid out by code running in your browser tab, and the PDF is produced by a local PDF library with the fonts bundled in OléPDF. Nothing is uploaded and no third-party service is involved. The only extra download that can happen is a Japanese or Hebrew font subset, fetched from OléPDF's own domain when the text contains those scripts.
That makes the tool suitable for logs and exports that often contain internal paths, user names or keys you would not want to paste into an online converter.

Insert a form feed character in the text file. Many editors accept it as Ctrl+L or as the escape \f; each one starts a new page in the PDF.
Only .txt files. Save other formats as plain text first, or use the dedicated converters for Word, Excel, PowerPoint and HTML.
Because the script needs contextual shaping, which the converter does not perform. Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Japanese and Hebrew are covered; Arabic and similar scripts are not.
